Miracle Attributed to John Paul II

The details of one of the miracles being investigated by the Vatican are being made public. A French nun claims she was cured of Parkinson’s disease after praying for the intercession of the late Pope John Paul II. On April 2, the second anniversary of his death, ceremonies will be held in Rome to mark the end of the investigation into the details of his life. These investigations were taken up as part of the beatification process for the great man.

The nun suffered for 4 years with the incurable disease, and then, after 2 months of prayer for the intercession of John Paul II, she awoke one night to find herself cured. This is the most compelling of many reported miracles through the intercession of the late Pope. It is also fitting because John Paul also suffered from the debilitating disease in the final years of his life. It is likely that this miracle will be used to affirm the case for making him officially “Blessed”. Another miracle will be required for the Catholic Church to officially recognize him as a saint.

These should be no surprise to so many of us who heard the powerful message of love and reason that this holy man gave us. John Paul II, Pray for us!
